Bryson DeChambeau turned up the trash talk with rival Brooks Koepka, calling him a ‘softie' ahead of their encounter on Capital One's The Match. The two golfers have frequently exchanged backhanded comments, and this upcoming match is no different. In an interview with Phil Mickelson, DeChambeau didn't hold back on Koepka's actions throughout their public feud. Via golf.com:

“I personally learned that he’s a bit more of a softie than I thought,” DeChambeau told Mickelson. “He played this hardball first off, but as I kept pushing back there was definitely some unique responses I got out of him, ones that I didn’t really expect. I thought it would be a little harder.”

DeChambeau proceeded to highlight specific moments in their rivalry wherein Koepka came out as soft. There was that viral clip from a post-match Koepka interview that DeChambeau unintentionally disrupted by walking with spikes behind a visibly annoyed Koepka. After the clip went viral, DeChambeau did the same thing during one of Koepka's U.S. Open interviews—this time intentionally.

DeChambeau also brought up the heckling “Brooksy” chants that have followed him on PGA Tour events. The 28-year-old labelled Koepka soft for this as well, saying:

“And then him going out and trying to incite crowds and not having him man up and talk to me about it. Like, you know, just kind of soft-balling me, I guess you could say.”

Their Ryder Cup displays of affection are now a thing of the past. The long-running beef isn't over, and it remains to be seen if it ever will be. Regardless, fans can count on Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka to put on a show both on the course and off it.
