Cam Reddish hasn't produced much in his brief time with the New York Knicks. Since being traded there by the Atlanta Hawks, he has played in only two of the four games he was available for, contributing just eight points and four rebounds in 15 total minutes, much of which came in garbage time.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau is the primary culprit holding Reddish back. His stinginess with his rotations has left Reddish as the odd man out, even though his skills would be beneficial to the team. He said that the process of working Reddish into the rotation will be gradual, per Petter Botte of the New York Post:

“Everything was discussed. We like who he is. We like the talent,” Thibodeau said when asked about Reddish following the game Friday. “And right now — it’s a long season. We knew we traded someone who wasn’t in the rotation, so you can’t keep adding to it without taking someone out. We can have injuries, so just have to be patient and work our way through it.”

Thibodeau's unwillingness to adapt his lineups frequently is partly why the Knicks have been so stale and lifeless throughout the season. New York has a habit of trying the same thing over and over again, often leaving them disappointed with the results. The Knicks are 23-27 and in 12th place in the Eastern Conference.

If things don't change soon for the Knicks, they may have to trade away Julius Randle and start from the ground up again. But with Thibodeau's aversion to frequent lineup variance, change is likely not on the horizon.
