The New York Knicks have yet to really find this groove this season. Unfortunately for him, Julius Randle has been one of the biggest scapegoats for this Knicks side that currently lies all the way at the 12th spot in the East with a 23-27 record.

At this point in the season, Randle has already been linked to a move away from the Knicks. A recent report suggested that New York is now open to the prospect of parting ways with the reigning Most Improved Player winner as the Knicks look to shake up their roster ahead of the February trade deadline.

Randle is well aware of the whispers and he's now come out with a strong statement about his current commitment level to the Knicks:

“I wouldn’t change it,” Randle said, via Steve Popper of Newsday. “I still want to be a part of it. I still want to see this thing through. I still want to be a part of trying to bring a championship to the Knicks.

“So I’m not going to be happy and be all about it when things are good and just because it’s not necessarily going the way I want it to or the team wants it, to run and hide. I’m still behind this. I’m still sticking it through.”

Randle makes it abundantly clear here that he wants to stay in New York. He was on the receiving end of a lot of high praise during the good times and he wants to “stick it through” now that times are rough.

By the way it's looking right now, though, it doesn't seem like the decision will lie entirely on Randle. He might be fully committed to the Knicks at the moment but the same might not be true for the franchise. Such are the drawbacks of being a star for one of the most high-profile teams in all of sports. The Knicks fanbase is also some of the most ruthless sets of fans you'll ever see and it isn't surprising that some of them have already begun turning on Julis Randle amid the turmoil of this season.
