The Los Angeles Lakers got a massive scare early in the second quarter of their game against the Indiana Pacers after Alex Caruso hit the back of his head on the floor.

While dribbling the ball to the basket, Caruso lost control and tried to save the possession. In the process, however, he slipped and fell hard as his head hit the floor.

The Lakers sparkplug held his head in pain. Fortunately, he was able to get up on his own before proceeding to the locker room to get it checked.

Here's the video of the incident:

Caruso was attended by the Lakers' head trainer Nina Hsieh.

Lakers fans will be hoping that Alex Caruso didn't suffer from any concussion. After all, being on the concussion protocol could lead him to miss some games, something the team cannot afford with the absence of Anthony Davis.

Prior to Friday's game, the Lakers have already lost two in a row, dropping them to third in the Western Conference standings. While Caruso's numbers don't pop off, his energy and hustle on the defensive end has kept the Purple and Gold going–especially when LeBron James rests.

In 29 games before the game against the Pacers, Caruso was averaging 5.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists. He left Friday's game with four points and two rebounds in just seven minutes of action.
