Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss shared a heartfelt dedication to Kobe Bryant on Thursday afternoon, noting that it feels like she lost a family member.

“Kobe, I don’t know how to express what you mean to me, my family and the Los Angeles Lakers. My father loved you like a son, which makes us family,” Jeanie Buss wrote in her post.

Jeanie also addressed Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, their three other children, and the other families involved in Sunday's crash:

“Vanessa, Natalia, Bianka, and Capri – I am so sorry for your loss,” Buss wrote. “We are grateful to have you in our lives and we will always be here for you. To the families that also lost loved ones on Sunday, the entire Laker family mourns with you. Laker Nation – we are one family grieving the loss of people we all loved dearly. We will mourn together, cry together but we will also heal together, love together and win TOGETHER. We love you.”

Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash outside Los Angeles on Sunday morning at the age of 41. Sadly, all nine passengers, including Kobe's 13-year-old daughter Gianna, perished in the tragic accident. According to several reports, the group was on their way to the Mamba Sports Academy, where Bryant was to serve as a coach for his daughter's basketball team.

Kobe shared a close bond with Jeanie and the Buss family, even through all of the turmoil that the organization endured in seasons past. Jeanie's father, Jim, had no issues with paying Bryant the money he felt he deserved. And in the end, the Lower Merion High School product led the Lakers to five championships.
