Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has landed in Las Vegas, Nevada, to watch some NBA Summer League action — and he was spotted speaking to new assistant coach Jason Kidd.

Kidd was hired by Los Angeles after the Lakers missed the playoffs yet again. He'll serve as assistant on Frank Vogel's coaching staff.

Kidd, a Hall of Famer who had a distinguished playing career in the NBA, previously coached the Brooklyn Nets for one season and then the Milwaukee Bucks for four years before being ousted 45 games into the 2017-18 campaign. He was replaced with Coach of the Year winner Mike Budenholzer.

Vogel previously coached the Indiana Pacers before finding his way to the Orlando Magic. He was let go by the Magic after the 2017-18 season.

This hasn't been the first time James has visited the Vegas ground zero for future NBA stars. In the past, King James went to the semi-pro exhibition to watch then-Lakers guard Lonzo Ball.

James and Kidd's seemingly shadowy tunnel discussion at Summer League also adds to speculation that Vogel's reign in the City of Angels could be short-lived. That Kidd left Brooklyn under uncertain terms — he reportedly went for a “power grab” and asked for front office control besides head coaching duties — points to people around the league believing he could do the same and backstab his Vogel.

For now, it appears that James and Kidd are speaking in friendly, if hushed, voices in Vegas.
