Carmelo Anthony was spotted at Madison Square Garden, watching the game between the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat. The former All-Star forward received a standing ovation from the fans, and Melo's friend, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, is in approval of how the MSG crowd showed love for Anthony.

Anthony spent most of his productive years as a member of the Knicks, and fans were quick to show their appreciation for everything that he's done during his brief stay with the franchise.

Melo has been in a lot of controversies as of late. He was traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Atlanta Hawks back in the summer after he failed to meet the team's expectations. The Hawks then waived him, which allowed him to sign with the Houston Rockets. However, it did not work for him in Texas as well, leading to him being shut down just 13 games into the season.

Just last week, Anthony was traded to the Chicago Bulls, where he is expected to be waived yet again. He is now reportedly looking for a new team to play for this season, in a last-ditch effort to save his career from ending in a bad note.

One of the teams reportedly interested in Anthony are the Lakers who coincidentally signed LeBron in the summer.

The Lakers do not plan to sign Melo at the moment because they have a full roster, and they reportedly do not want to let go of a guaranteed contract just to accommodate him.

However, LeBron's continuous show of support for Melo could play a significant part in the potential arrival of Anthony in Los Angeles.
