What a difference a week makes. The Los Angeles Lakers looked to be in dire straits not too long ago as they stumbled into a five game losing streak ever since Anthony Davis fell to injury.

But fast-forward just over a week later and the Lakers are finding their groove. They've won four straight games, and five of their last six. One very tangible reason has been the shift to start LeBron James at center.

But if you ask LeBron himself, his explanation is much more straightforward.

LeBron on the biggest reason why the Lakers are starting to win: “We’re just getting our guys back.”

“It's literally that simple,” the Lakers star continued. “Soon we'll have K Nunn as well, and not too far after that, AD returns.”

Long before the health and safety protocols ravaged NBA rosters, the Lakers were already sorely depleted even as they entered the season. Their rotation felt like a revolving door that welcomed in newcomers while having others dropping out due to injury or Covid-19 protocols.

While Anthony Davis and Kendrick Nunn are still out, a number of injured Lakers have now gotten healthy enough to take the court.

In a season defined by instability, the Lakers are finally catching a few breaks – and it's paying dividends for LeBron James and Co.
