Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo is a straight-talking kind of guy, and he has an opinion about stacking teams. The four-time All-Star recently joined Jemele Hill on her Unbothered podcast. Amid their wide-ranging discussion, Rondo noted his disdain for Kevin Durant's decision to join the Golden State Warriors in the summer of 2016.

During the interview, Rondo made it clear that he supports player empowerment. However, there was an exception when it came to Durant's case.

Via Yahoo Sports:

“I’m not a big fan of stacking teams,” Rondo told Hill. “What dude did to join them, I don’t like that at all. That’s just the competitor I am.”

The “dude” that Rondo is referring to is obviously Durant. To be fair, though, Rondo was a part of one of the NBA's superteams in Boston, alongside Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen.

Some have said that this season's Lakers are a superteam, but Rondo disagrees, noting that most of his teammates are role players:

“It’s just LeBron and AD [Anthony Davis],” Rondo added. “The rest of us, we’re role players.”

Rondo and the Lakers fell to the Clippers in their season opener, 112-102. It was a highly anticipated matchup, as both teams are projected to be title contenders. It was also the first of four installments in a new Battle for L.A.

As for superteams , there are several squads that could be labeled as such these days. Durant teamed up with Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn, while Kawhi Leonard and Paul George signed with the Clippers. Let's not forget about Al Horford, who left the Celtics in favor of the rival Sixers.

All in all, fans should be hyped for an exciting season.
