The Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James, Lonzo Ball, and JaVale McGee beautifully connect for a Showtime-like play during their road game against the Sacramento Kings. Tonight is the first game of their back-to-back as they return to Staples Center to face the Atlanta Hawks tomorrow.

Here's the video of the James-Ball-McGee connection, via the official Twitter account of the Lakers.

Though the play was not on a fastbreak as what Magic Johnson's Showtime Lakers would always do, the passing was indeed a pleasant thing to see. With LeBron James sensing the double team coming to him, he kicked it out to Lonzo Ball at the top of the key. It was quite the hockey assist for James as Ball saw the wide-open JaVale McGee on the paint for the easy slam.

While the spotlight has been focused on James and the young Lakers' stars, McGee has held his own as the team's only true big man for most of the early season. People are already including him in talks for the Most Improved Player award as the 31-year-old center is averaging career-highs of 14.5 points and 3.1 blocks, while grabbing 7.2 rebounds per game.

With the team's recent acquisition of Tyson Chandler, McGee's playing minutes could be lessened. However, this would be the best opportunity for McGee to learn from a proven defensive anchor, considering the fact that McGee is still in the starting unit despite the Chandler signing.

On the other hand, Ball has meshed with LeBron James quite well despite being shaky at times. Ball has seen his field goal percentage drastically go up from 36 percent last season to 44 percent this year, including an impressive 39-percent clip from beyond the arc.
