After making a name for himself in his first two seasons in the NBA as a rim-rattler and high-flyer, Los Angeles Lakers forward Larry Nance, Jr. has been considered by many as a potential contestant in the annual Slam Dunk Contest during All-Star Weekend.

However, he has failed to participate in it due to different injuries he has suffered. But that may change this coming season, as the 24-year-old Wyoming product has made it known, via Alex Kennedy’s HoopsHype podcast, that it’s something that he considering it, and he is healthy enough come the All-Star break.

“It’s a definite possibility. It’s something that I’ve been wanting to do. I’ve just had some unfortunate timing with some bumps in the road, some injuries. But, I’m healthy – knock on wood – I feel healthy. It’s in LA. If there was a time when I had to do it, this would be it.”

This can definitely be considered good news for his supporters who have long been wanting to see him compete against the other good dunkers in the league today. It will also be his chance to show off his skills on the biggest stage, with the whole world watching.

The L.A. faithful are hoping the arrival of Lonzo Ball and Brook Lopez to their fold can help turn around their fortunes starting next year, but it will also be something to cheer about if Nance, Jr. can compete in the contest, and maybe win it as well, just like his father, who won it in its inaugural showcase in 1984.
