The San Francisco 49ers didn't want history to repeat itself again in Week 3 with turf issues at MetLife Stadium. Apparently, multiple parties, including the New York Jets and Giants, have inspected the field ahead of Sunday's game.

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the multiple inspectors gave the turf a thumbs up:

The 49ers recently played the Jets last Sunday, a contest in which they won 31-13. The toll it took on the 49ers' roster, however, may have not been worth it. They're dealing with a slew of injuries from Week 2 that've left them in jeopardy of being unsuccessful for the remainder of the season.

The turf of MetLife Stadium was first bought into question by 49ers following the victory over the Jets as they described the turf as “trash” and “spongy” amongst other opinions. Giants head coach Joe Judge stated that the turf has felt fine for his players dating back to training camp, noting that he hasn't had any concerns being raised by his players.

While the turf has been deemed clear to play on, the 49ers won't be able to wind back time for a healthier roster ahead of their bout against the Giants. Starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has a high chance of playing in Week 3 after suffering a high ankle sprain last Sunday on the turf. Also, tight end George Kittle may be available for action on Sunday, more than likely depending on how he responds in practice.

Without Defensive Rookie of the Year Nick Bosa and lineman Solomon Thomas out for the remainder of the season, the 49ers will more than likely see a stagger in defense as well. Hopefully with the new inspection of the turf, the injuries this Sunday will be limited to very few if none at all.
