The free agent market is beginning to wind down, which has seen many players over the last several days land their next deal.

According to David Pick, free agent veteran big man Mo Speights has recently met with the Orlando Magic.

The 29-year-old had been in discussions with the Atlanta Hawks, but talks broke down between both sides with the team pulling their offer from him.

Speights is coming off a productive campaign with the L.A. Clippers where he averaged 8.7 points on 44.5 percent shooting from the field and 37.2 percent from beyond the arc with 4.5 rebounds in 15.7 minutes while playing in all 82 games. He has developed into a reliable contributor off the bench.

The nine-year veteran has proven to be quite a durable big man that could be a valuable contributor off the bench. A former NBA champion, Speights would bring some much-needed veteran presence to the Magic as one of their leaders in the locker room to help mentor their young core group.

Despite that, he has yet to garner any significant interest through the first few weeks of free agency. Meanwhile, Orlando has made a few key additions to their roster in free agency by adding veteran point guard Shelvin Mack and forward Jonathon Simmons.
