Former NBA big man Channing Frye has been taking a lot of flak lately after coming out with a controversial statement. Earlier, Frye said that Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan's primary job during his playing days was to “just score,” and as expected, it did not sit well with Jordan supporters everywhere.

When we say a lot of flak, we mean A LOT of flak. Frye gave us a sneak peek into his Twitter inbox, and some of the DM's he receives are just downright disrespectful:

This is not the first time Frye has complained about getting blasted by fans through direct messages. Yesterday, Frye tweeted about some DM's crossing the line, as they targeted a very sensitive personal matter for him — his deceased parents.

To be fair, Frye was pretty much asking for it when he said what he said about Michael Jordan before. Surely he should have expected to be on the receiving end of some bashing after downplaying Jordan's legacy, but at the same time, there are just some haters who go overboard. Whatever the case may be, if Frye was looking to gain attention from his earlier statement, then he has surely succeeded in doing the same.

To make matters worse, though, Frye came out with his statement in the context of comparing Jordan to former teammate LeBron James. Frye said that he considers the Los Angeles Lakers superstar to be the GOAT over Jordan, and the “just score” comment was his argument as to why he is taking James over MJ.
