The NBA is officially back.

And, with everything going on in the world right, members of the NBA are choosing to stand up against inequality and social justice. Prior to the tip off of tonight's second game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers, a strong video featuring different NBA stars was shown.

Watch the video via NBA TV's Twitter:

The two-minute video is a mix of on-ground clips of local protests as well as NBA stars like Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics delivering powerful messages on what they all truly feel about what's going on right now.

“First and foremost, I'm a black man. I'm 23 years old. I don't know all the answers but I feel like how everybody else is felling” Brown said. “This goes beyond just what we see on camera. Enough is enough.”

With the ever-growing Black Lives Matter fully on the rise sparked by the murder of George Floyd last May, there was a lot of talk about the whole NBA season restarting and how it could possibly distract the world from the momentum of the social injustice movement. Clippers head coach Doc Rivers made sure to address that in his own segment in the two-minute video.

“I will never be silent or a distraction.” Rivers said. “We can still play basketball. But at the end of the day, social justice has to be had.”

The league has done a great job so far in making sure that the season doesn't sidetrack everything going on in the country today. The NBA is choosing to use its voice and influence to add to the social commentary and to prove that basketball is, and has always been, more than just sports.
