The Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes continue as a new week begins, and as every day passes, there is more clarity on where he may land. Over the past few days, the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics have emerged as the two teams that seem to have a chance, and they both offer different packages that the Milwaukee Bucks should take into consideration.
As for Antetokounmpo, the latest update is that out of the two teams, he wants the Heat more, according to NBA insider Brian Windhorst.
“The league believes this is finally going to happen… Talks have intensified over the last 7-10 days. He has focused on wanting to be a member of the Miami Heat,” Windhorst said on Get Up. “Because he has 1 year on his contract he has some control over that. The Heat and Bucks have been talking for months and have not agreed to a deal because the Bucks don’t love the Heat’s offer. There are 3rd and 4th teams involved.”

The Heat have reportedly been offering Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, and Jaime Jacquez Jr. and draft capital for Antetokounmpo. The Bucks must be asking for more, which makes sense as to why they're trying to get more teams involved.
As for the Celtics, they didn't seem to be in the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes at the beginning of the offseason, but after seeing what the Heat were offering, they may have felt they could top it. Of course, the main piece for the Celtics would be Jaylen Brown, but he'd be rerouted to another team where the Bucks could get more in return than what the Heat are offering.
It's still uncertain how interested the Celtics are from moving on from their duo of Brown and Jayson Tatum, but bringing in a player like Antetokounmpo is a no-brainer for a team looking to contend for a title.
