To say that Kevin Durant's career has been colorful would be an understatement. The reigning two-time Finals MVP himself acknowledged this fact, comparing his NBA journey to a Hollywood movie.

Speaking to the media during his promotional tour in the Philippines, Durant shared a first-person perspective of his career thus far which has had its fair share of movie-like ups and downs. Noel Zarate of ESPN5 reports.

“It's been like a movie,” said the 29-year-old. “So many different emotions going through this journey. I'm just grateful that I've gotten to do so much with the game of basketball and it's (been) there to change my life forever. It's just been amazing.”

Durant's professional career started in 2007 when he was drafted second overall by the Seattle Supersonics behind Greg Oden. He garnered Rookie of the Year honors in his debut season, and spent the next eight years with the franchise, which became the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2008.

In one of the most controversial moves in the history of the NBA, Durant turned his back on the Thunder in 2016 to team up with Steph Curry and the defending champions Golden State Warriors. Many considered this to be an ultimate showing of betrayal on Durant's part. The move absolutely changed the landscape of the entire league, with the Warriors winning back-to-back titles since Durant's transfer.

Durant understood the type of backlash his decision would trigger. The Texas Longhorns alum took all of this in stride, along with all the emotional baggage that it came with.

Durant is still at the peak of his career, and his story is far from over. Despite all he has achieved, the next few years will be instrumental in writing the final script of his legacy.
