The NBA trade deadline passed and the Golden State Warriors decided to stay pat. After all, with the way they have performed this season, despite all the injuries and Stephen Curry getting as cold as leftover pizza at one stretch, there's no reason to tinker with the roster.
But that could change in the coming days as teams will scramble to find additions in the buyout market. The Warriors could join the sweepstakes and get more help for Curry, Klay Thompson, and the rest of the guys. Getting a backup big man sounds like a good plan, considering that the Warriors are thin at the center slot.
Warriors general manager Bob Myers, however, was lukewarm to the idea. In a report by NBC Sports Bay Area, Myers said no specific name from the buyout market pops out for them.

“If we thought Draymond (Green) was not going to be back, or (James) Wiseman, and we thought some player would really help us, we would do that. At this stage, as far as clamoring for a big guy, there isn’t an obvious, ‘Go get that guy,' and he fits with what we do and can run our offense. It’s not just taking any big and saying, ‘This guy’s going to be able to rebound, block shots and be able. To run your offense.’ Our offense is intricate. Our offense is complicated.”
With Green and Wiseman out, Kevon Looney has been tasked to man the paint, with Nemanja Bjelica and Jonathan Kuminga providing support. While it's not ideal for the Warriors, Myers is confident they can still get the job done.
The Warriors are at 42-16 and will face the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.
