Since making it known more than two years ago that he is motivated to play better because he wants his NBA 2K ratings to go up, Hassan Whiteside has continued to be very vocal about his skills, and being underrated among his fellow centers. After team GM’s had a poll recently on who they think the top players are per position, the Miami Heat big man fired back at them, particularly those who did not vote for him as the best at the five spot.

The 28-year-old Marshall product made it known that he is not pleased with the general managers’ poll results. He then told Anthony Chiang of the Palm Beach Post, that he will just continue to “kill” their teams to prove to them they should’ve voted for him instead.

Whiteside certainly has a case for his claim as he has had three consecutive seasons where he’s averaged a double-double. He led the league in blocks two seasons ago and in rebounds this past season. His scoring average has also increased in each of his first five seasons in the NBA, even reaching his career high of 17.0 per game last year.

If he can continue his impressive play this campaign, it could be the year he’ll finally receive a lot of honors for all the improvement he’s shown since joining the Heat in 2014. More importantly, he will be able to help his team return to the playoffs, which they only missed out on in the last season due to a tiebreaker.
