Chip Kelly will face off against the team he once coached in the Oregon Ducks when his UCLA Bruins take the field on Saturday.

Oregon is still in the playoff hunt but would have to win out and then get some help. While he won't admit it, Kelly would love nothing more than a UCLA win and to spoil those plans for the Ducks. Per 247sports, the head coach for the Bruins is emphasizing his team having disciplined eyes on defense.

“Everything they do is trying to put your defense in conflict,” Kelly said. “They probably throw more RPOS or run more RPOS than anybody in the country. It’s kind of what their MO is. They’re trying trick you and fool you. We’ve got to be really disciplined with our eyes. Our defense has to be really disciplined this week.”

This game should feature plenty of points, at least that's what it says on paper. Oregon is the second highest scoring team in the Pac-12, averaging 33.8 points per game. UCLA is right behind them at No. 3 in the conference in scoring.

Kelly has already watched plenty of film on Oregon quarterback Anthony Brown and the UCLA coach is impressed with what his own eyes have seen.

“They do a great job with him. He’s a kid who can beat you both running and throwing,” Kelly said of Brown. “They had a fourth down in the Fresno State game and they called speed option. So they have confidence in him and he converted and made a big play for them in that game to win the game for them. I think they’ve got great confidence in him. I think Joe [Moorhead] does a really good job of putting him in plays. It’s an RPO based offense.”
