The NBA regular season is coming to an end soon, with the playoffs just around the corner. The Brooklyn Nets are now at the top of the Eastern Conference with an impressive 34-15 record, even with superstar Kevin Durant sidelined.

Durant's been out since mid-February nursing a hamstring strain, but it sounds like he's set to make a return soon, per Alex Schiffer. Nets head coach Steve Nash gave a vague update to Durant's return.

So with that, Durant may play Monday against the New York Knicks, but even Nash doesn't sound too confident in that idea. From Nash's description, Durant might be day-to-day or it might be longer. Even so, there hasn't been an official time for Durant's return yet.

The Nets front office has done everything they can to build a powerhouse. After Durant and Kyrie Irving agreed to sign with Brooklyn in the offseason, the organization was able to pull off a trade with the Houston Rockets to acquire James Harden. Since then, the roster has expanded, picking up Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge after their original teams bought out their contracts.

In the 19 games Durant has played this year, he's proven to be as good as we all remember him to be. In the early portion of the year, Durant was averaging 29 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists.

With the Nets already one of the best teams in the league, they will surely become an even more dominant force once Durant returns. For now, Nets fans will have to wait just a little bit longer to see a fully healthy roster.
