Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is well aware of the challenge that awaits as they face Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the playoffs; however, he is not one to back down in any ordeal no matter how difficult it may seem.

Durant said so as much in his recent Zoom call with reporters on Friday, expressing his excitement to face another tough opponent, especially of Antetokounmpo's caliber who is not only an MVP but also a Defensive Player of the Year.

“It’s cool to compete against the best on this stage at this point of the season,” the Nets star said, per Peter Botte of the New York Post. “It’s always fun challenging yourself against some of the best, and these battles have made me a better player, raised my awareness out there on the court by playing against such great teams and also great players and coaches.”

“So [it’s] just another opportunity to go out there and enjoy the moment. Every moment you get to play is incredible, so when you’re out there with the best players in the world, MVPs and Defensive Players of the Year, it just makes it even better.”

This is certainly the mentality Nets fans want from Kevin Durant. After all, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks could very well be a great measuring stick for Brooklyn if they are ready to compete for the title.

While the Celtics have Jayson Tatum, there is no doubt Giannis and the Bucks pose a different challenge for the Nets. Not only are they facing a freak athlete who can perform on both ends in Giannis, but they will also be fighting a hungry Milwaukee side anchored by Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton.

The Nets' defense will truly be tested against the Bucks, and if they don't step up, it could very well spell doom to them.

Sure enough, Durant will be ready for that.
