Landon Collins is undoubtedly the best safety in NFL free agency for this upcoming season. It is very likely that several teams will be interested in him. The New York Giants appear to be headed in a direction that can't be pinpointed, but it's clear Collins has zero interest in being placed under the franchise tag. Collins wants and deserves a deal–there's no debate whatsoever.

Collins has eclipsed the 100-tackle mark in each season except in 2018, when he missed four games due to injury. Despite 2018's injury woes, Collins still made the Pro Bowl and accounted for 96 total tackles.

The Giants got to witness one of the most successful seasons by a safety in 2016, when Collins made First-Team All-Pro, had 125 tackles, 13 passes defended, five interceptions, and four sacks. This was also the last season the Giants were a solid team. Collins' presence on the defense helped guide them to the postseason.

Several teams would be a perfect fit for Collins, but the deal he seeks may be a bit more difficult to come by. The Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, and Washington Redskins could all make a serious play for Collins. The Falcons and Packers are on the cusp of a playoff run, but the Redskins are very far away right now. A likely scenario: A team with higher playoff hopes could sway him over a team similar to where the Giants currently stand.
