Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is on the brink of history. With just two games to go, he is just 266 yards shy of the 2,000 mark, which no player has ever done in a single NFL season. Odell Beckham Jr meanwhile, really wants Kupp to reach the milestone. Why? Well, so he can break the record next season.
“I think you just see me in an atmosphere where success is around. And like I say, these people are on pace for history. I want to watch them break it. You know, I told him, I want him to get 2K yards so I can come and break your record. That’s how it happens. Records are meant to be broken, and like I say, I think we’re just witnessing something very, very special. I’m happy to be here with the Rams firsthand.”
Beckham Jr is absolutely rooting Kupp on to get to 2,000 yards, but the competitive juices are brewing. OBJ wants to reach a new level in 2022 with the Rams. He made sure to praise Kupp though for his hard work that's put him in a position to even get to this point:

Along with being an actual phenomenal talent and football player and athlete and all those things, it’s the attention to detail for me. Just the very small things that happen in the game, which we say it’s a game of inches, he’s just right on top of them.”
OBJ has been thriving with the Rams since his arrival, collecting four touchdowns in just six games. It could be tough for him to actually be the focal point of the offense like Kupp, but the former Browns wideout is clearly motivated after his hot start in LA.
Kupp will have a chance to inch closer to 2k on Sunday against a Baltimore Ravens team who are dead last in the league in passing yards allowed.
