The Brooklyn Nets were able to land their point guard of the future, drafting Mikel Brown Jr. with the No. 6 pick in the NBA Draft. Brown's skills will be a great complement to what the Nets already have, and the fans are excited to see what he will bring to the team.

After being drafted, Brown spoke about the Nets' roster and what he likes about them, while also adding in what he plans to bring to the group.

“We have a young core,” Brown said. “When I went there for my workout, I got to see the bond and the camaraderie they had because most of the guys were there working out already. So I really got a feel for them. They were hungry, and that's how I am. I'm coming in trying to be hungry and bring back that winning culture.”

The future should be bright for the Nets, but they could make strides as early as this season with the pieces they have. They traded for Julius Randle a day before the draft, who has shown throughout his career that he can be a go-to scoring option if need be.

Michael Porter Jr. is still on the team, and he had a career season last year with the Nets, as he was the No. 1 scoring option. Now, all the Nets needed was a guard to set up those offensive options, and Brown will be the person who does so. Not only will he be a key playmaker, but he can get a bucket at any time as well.

It will be interesting to see what other players they look to bring in this offseason to possibly fill out the roster, but what they have now is a good start.
