The Denver Nuggets were on the receiving end of some terrible news after it was recently confirmed that star guard Jamal Murray is going to be sidelined for the rest of the season due to an ACL injury. There has been an outpouring of support for the embattled Murray, and the 24-year-old has since taken to social media for the first time since sustaining the injury.

Murray had a brief message on Instagram as he shared the type of mindset he's currently in following confirmation of his season-ending knee injury:

While Murray acknowledged the gravity of the situation, he made it abundantly clear that this is nothing but a road bump in his career:

“Can take the dog out the fight..BUT YOU AINT EVER GON TAKE THE FIGHT OUT OF THE DOG,” Murray wrote.

It's great to hear how Murray appears to be in good spirits following this devastating development. He may be done for the year, but this mere hurdle is not going to prevent him from reaching for his ultimate goal, which is to become one of the top guards in the NBA — if he isn't already.

In spite of Murray's positive outlook, this does not take away from the fact that the Nuggets have been dealt a terrible blow. Murray's injury will have a significant impact on their campaign as well as their title aspirations this season.

Nikola Jokic will now need to carry much of the load for the Nuggets, with Michael Porter Jr. also expected to step into the No. 2 role for the squad.

Prayers up for Jamal.
