Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray received support from players around the NBA following his knee injury on Monday night. The Nuggets then announced Tuesday that Murray had been diagnosed with a torn left ACL.

Among those who offered their thoughts and prayers for Murray after the official diagnosis were Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry and Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard:

Lillard kept his message short on Twitter, while Curry encouraged the 24-year-old guard to come back stronger from the injury. Both Curry and Lillard have dealt with injuries in their careers, and they understand how difficult it is to come back from them. Even though they may be rivals on the court and in the highly competitive Western Conference, the two All-Stars made it clear that they are rooting for Murray to recover quickly from the injury.

Murray went down with the injury in the final minute of the Nuggets’ 116-107 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday, on a night when Curry became the franchise’s all-time leading scorer. The former Kentucky Wildcat drove to the basket but fell down as his knee buckled and was in visible pain on the court and had to be helped to the locker room.

It was Murray’s first game back into the Nuggets' lineup after missing the past four games with right knee soreness. He finished with 17 points on 15 shots in 33 minutes of action against Golden State. He finishes his season averaging a career-best 21.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 47.7% from the field and 40.8% from beyond the arc.

Denver will now have to do battle without Murray for the rest of the season. The Nuggets shouldn't be counted out, but this is a brutal blow for their championship dreams.
