The Denver Nuggets came up with a huge win on Tuesday in Game 3 of their Western Conference Finals matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Nuggets' star pairing of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray was outstanding on the evening, and as it turns out, this dynamic duo is making history with their run.

Murray dropped 28 points in Game 3, while Jokic logged 22 points. It was the 17th time both players scored at least 20 points in the same postseason game. The Kevin Durant-Russell Westbrook duo from the early years of their Oklahoma City Thunder days is the only other one with both players 25 or younger to rack up more of these games:

Durant and Westbrook's record does not look like a record that's going to be broken anytime soon, and with Jokic already 25, he and Murray won't be able to even come close to the same. Then again, the mere fact that Jokic and Murray are mentioned in the same breath with one of the best pairings in NBA history speaks volumes of how amazing these two have been for the Nuggets thus far.

It is worth noting, however, that despite their record-breaking run, Durant and Westbrook never won a championship in OKC. The Nuggets faithful are hoping that Jokic and Murray do not suffer the same fate. For what it's worth, Denver has locked up both guys to long-term contracts, so barring any unforeseen developments, these two should continue to lead the way for the Nuggets for many years to come.

At the moment, however, they are faced with an extremely difficult task at hand. Their first win against the Lakers in the West Finals on Tuesday provides the Nuggets with a tremendous boost, but there's no denying that they are still a huge underdog in this series. Jokic, Murray, and the rest of the squad will have to be at their best if they hope to challenge the mighty Lakers in their next few games.
