On Friday, Oregon landed a commitment from three-star Lake Oswego defensive lineman and edge prospect Josh Christensen, who chose the Ducks over Oklahoma, Washington and California.

Christensen, a 6-foot-6, 250-pound defender, is regarded as the No. 2 overall prospect in Oregon in the 2027 cycle, behind only West Linn cornerback Josiah Molden, who previously pledged to Oregon. Christensen is also rated as the nation’s No. 102 edge prospect in the class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking.

With Christensen joining the fold, the Ducks now hold commitments from the top four players in Oregon's 2027 class: Molden, Christensen, Central Catholic tight end George VanSandt and Nelson wide receiver Malachi Garlington.

The recruitment came after Christensen visited Oregon last weekend before making a trip to California. While several programs remained involved late in the process, the Ducks, Huskies, Sooners and Illinois Fighting Illini were among the primary contenders before the Lake Oswego standout made his choice.

Christensen arrives with a history of success on the field. He helped Lake Oswego win a state championship last season and earned First-Team All-State honors. His combination of size and production gives Oregon another major addition along the defensive front.

The commitment also adds to an already talent-rich 2027 class that stretches multiple regions of the country. Oregon's group includes five-star wide receiver Dakota Guerrant of Michigan and five-star edge rusher Rashad Streets of North Carolina, along with several four-star prospects on both sides of the ball. Christensen becomes one of the latest defensive additions, joining edge rusher Cameron Pritchett and defensive linemen Zane Rowe and Achilles Reyna in a class that continues to grow in both quality and depth.

With 19 commitments currently in the 2027 cycle, the Ducks have bolstered their national recruiting footprint while securing the state's top local talent.
