Indiana Pacers new guard Bruce Brown is having a big NBA offseason after winning an NBA Finals with the Denver Nuggets. He is making headlines once again with his ‘welcome to the NBA' moments involving former teammates Blake Griffin and Kemba Walker, via the Run Your Race Podcast.

“When I first got to Vegas, and I was next to Blake [Griffin]…I was like damn, that's BG…then I would say guarding Kemba [Walker], torching my ass. All year, Kemba torching me…that was with the Hornets…I hated playing him…”

Bruce Brown gives two pivotal moments that let him know that he had officially arrived in the NBA. The first was the first time he was standing next to Blake Griffin, as Griffin had a lot more notoriety coming into the league than Brown did. He said this moment was big because it just showed him the caliber of players he would be playing against.

The next was in his early career playing with the Charlotte Hornets when Kemba Walker was the main guy for the franchise. He said that all year Walker would kill him in practice and it simply was demoralizing having to guard him day in and day out.

Fast forward to today and Bruce Brown is a much more predominant player than Griffin and Walker in the active NBA. Griffin has been relegated to a bench role while Walker recently announced plans to go play overseas; meanwhile, Brown just signed a very lucrative deal in NBA free agency with the Pacers to become one of their starting guards. It is safe to say that the ‘welcome to the NBA' moments for Bruce Brown weren't enough to keep him from going after his goals.
