The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to a partnership with health company Fusionetics.

Fusionetics, through their official Twitter account, announced the partnership on June 9.

Fusionetics, according to its company website, is a “performance health system that integrates sports science, clinical application, and cutting-edge technology to deliver efficient and effective solutions focused on decreasing injury, optimizing performance, and enhancing recovery.”

Among the company's sports-oriented services include performance enhancement, injury reduction, centralized athlete management system, increased athlete engagement and motivation, and advanced analytics on player status.

The Pelicans suffered various injuries during the 2018-19 season, so having a partner that focuses on sports science and performance enhancement of players is certainly a welcome addition.

The likes of Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday, E'Twaun Moore, Nikola Mirotic, Jahlil Okafor, Elfrid Payton and Julius Randle all missed significant time due to various injuries, so the Pels could only hope for better injury and health management in the 2019-20 season.

Hopefully, the addition of Fusionetics will translate to a more inspired Pelicans team to take the court next campaign. New Orleans finished with a lowly 33-49 (.402) win-loss record. The inevitable drafting of coveted Duke Blue Devils forward Zion Williams on June 20 is a step in the right direction for the franchise.
