Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev formally leaves Evil Geniuses (EG) as his contract with the team expired today.
RAMZES666 NO LONGER LIVES EVIL
RAMZES666 first joined Evil Geniuses in September 2019. However, the onset of the coronavirus pandemic prevented him from playing with his team for most of 2020. The 21-year-old mostly played in the CIS region, but the EG organization was located in the United States.
As the start of the DPC 2021 loomed ahead, EG was forced to look for a replacement. In November 2020, the team picked up Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang from the SEA region. As a consequence, RAMZES666 moved to the inactive list.
His inactivity with EG led to speculations that he might leave EG and return to Virtus.pro (VP). It was in his former team that RAMZES666 came into prominence. However, these rumors turned out to be baseless, as RAMZESS666 seemingly had different plans for the DPC2021.

Instead of returning to his former team, RAMZES666 instead wanted to play with a new stack. Collaborating with Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan, the two wanted to register a new team for the DPC2021. The team would have included his former VP teammate, Vladimir “No[o]one” Minenko. However, the team wasn't able to meet Valve's deadline for registration.
This leaves them with only two options if they want to eventually compete for this year's International. Either join the league at the onset of the second season in April, or get picked up by a different team already competing in the circuit. However, choosing the second option will have serious consequences. The DPC rules state that “During the league, a team must play with at least 4 of its 5 registered players. Any team that plays a major with a sub will incur a 40% penalty on points earned from that tournament.”
It's going to be a long road ahead for RAMZES666 towards The International.
