Monday's game between the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays has been an absolute mess, to be honest. The Red Sox scores seven runs combined in the first two innings and seemed well in control. However, Rays slugger Nelson Cruz hit an inside-the-park grand slam after Alex Verdugo misplayed the ball, and suddenly the score was 7-5.

Then came the top of the ninth inning, and the Rays down by one. Austin Meadows stepped up and, well, believe it or not, Alex Verdugo was the cause of yet ANOTHER inside the park home run. You can't make this stuff up.

Verdugo nearly caught the ball at the wall, but Meadows was in a full sprint and the Red Sox suddenly went from up 7-0 to a tie game and headed to extra innings.

What a wild afternoon at Fenway Park, and not one, but two inside-the-park home runs off the bats of Rays players, who leads the American League in record and have the second-best mark in the entire MLB.

If the Rays can finish this off, it will be a gigantic collapse for the Red Sox, and Alex Verdugo might have some angry fans after displaying a pair of balls on Monday's game, especially against a division rival, at home, of all places.
