With the Cincinnati Reds coming off the series against the New York Yankees, which they took two games out of the three, the team gets huge news regarding star Elly De La Cruz, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. As the Reds have been looking forward to many injury returns, De La Cruz will now be off the 10-day injured list (IL).

According to Charlie Goldsmith, Cincinnati manager Terry Francona said that De La Cruz will come off the IL tomorrow and will be activated for the second game of the series against the Milwaukee Brewers, which starts on Monday night.

“Terry Francona confirms that Elly De La Cruz will be activated tomorrow,” Goldsmith wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

There's no denying that De La Cruz has been eager to return to action, as the 24-year-old's playing history has shown, rarely missing time, playing in 160 and 162 games in the first two full seasons he was in action. Even Francona would say on Saturday that De La Cruz messaged him about wanting to come back then.

“He wanted to come back today,” Francona said before the 10-2 win over the Yankees, via MLB.com. “I think he was joking, but it was kind of cool. I got a text after the game, and it goes, ‘I’ll be there tomorrow.’”

So far this season for the Reds, De La Cruz has recorded a .280 batting average to go along with 12 home runs and 37 RBIs in 58 games, as he will miss his 19th game tonight before being activated on Tuesday night.

There's no denying that Cincinnati will be glad to have De La Cruz back on Tuesday, as the team enters Monday against Milwaukee with a 37-39 record, which puts the team last in the NL Central.
