Many NBA players criticized US President Donald Trump after his recent appearance on the first 2020 Presidential Debate. Now, Philadelphia 76ers star guard Ben Simmons has denounced him completely, endorsing the tandem of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for the upcoming elections.

In a video posted on his Twitter, he encouraged 76ers fans to show the same support.

ā€œDonald Trump won this state (Pennsylvania) by less than one point in 2016. We cannot let that happen again. Joe Biden is the president we need to take on COVID-19, fight for equality, and build this country back better than ever before.ā€

The 24-year-old Simmons has been extra vocal about the importance of the impending polls. He also recently shared on Twitter how to correctly fill out and submit ballots via mail. He has 977 thousand followers on Twitter alone and he feels his reach can contribute greatly.

The two-time All-Star is just one of many NBA stars voicing out against Trump, who drew a lot of flak for not condemning racism when the issue was brought up during his much-awaited face-off with Biden.

Ben Simmons feels Pennsylvania will be a swing state that could decide the upcoming elections and avoid another term by Trump, who recently tested positive for COVID-19. That is why he is imploring his fellow PA residents to register and make their vote count.

ā€œThe road to the White House begins here. Your voice matters and we need to hear it on November 3rd. So register now. It will only take a couple of minutes.ā€

The call for fans to vote remains one of the main advocacies of the NBA.
