Philadelphia 76ers star point-forward Ben Simmons is a one of a kind talent in the league. Blessed with the physical tools of a big man paired with the speed, agility, and court vision of a guard, he is a natural mismatch for any team on offense and defense. Despite averaging a near triple-double with 15.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 8.2 assists, per game last season, the Sixers phenom has still one glaring flaw to his skill set, which is his inability to shoot from the perimeter.

In relation, he had his work cut out for him trying to improve his shot before the season begins. During an interview for ESPN's The Jump, he was asked how it is and where the progress of his shot is currently.

As real as he can be, Simmons humbly acknowledged and replied that is is nowhere near close where he wants it to be.

He added:

“This is the second year I've been playing. This is really the first year I have actually worked on my jumper. I had the whole summer to work on it. And it takes time. It's not gonna like I'm gonna come out here and just start draining threes. It takes time. Shooting the shot first and getting shots up is the first step towards that.”

If all his hard work to improve his shot come to fruition, we might get to see a scoring breakout from the young Sixer. Defenses were definitely having a handful against him last season, with a legitimate outside jumper, he will be near unstoppable.
