The Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets transaction was one of the biggest trades on Thursday. The deal was finalized and publicized less than two hours before the 2022 NBA Trade Deadline.

Philadelphia acquired James Harden and Paul Millsap in exchange for Ben Simmons, Andre Drummond, Seth Curry, and two first-round draft picks.

Sixers fans have wanted to see Ben Simmons out the door since his lack of performance in their playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks. He refused to play for Philadelphia this season, making the city long for his departure even more.

Sixers' President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey felt the pressure as the deadline crept closer and closer. According to ESPN, he made it very clear how much he needed this deal to go through.

“Stay on the f—ing phone…We're going to finish this!” Morey yelled to Nets general manager Sean Marks. This was around 1:15 p.m. ET as the teams were finalizing the trade.

“We're dropping F-bombs now, Daryl?” Marks asked jokingly.

Eventually, the deal was done, and Philadelphia fans rejoiced — but it wasn't just them. Nets fans wanted this deal to go through too. Much like Simmons in Philadelphia, Harden wasn't giving it his all in Brooklyn. Both teams were more than happy to get the dead weight off their rosters.
