Despite Joel Embiid’s best efforts, the Philadelphia 76ers couldn’t quite outlast Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder as they fell in triple-overtime, 119-117. Shortly after the final buzzer, Westbrook was seen sheepishly waving goodbye to Embiid.

In typical Embiid fashion, he had quite the comeback in response to Westbrook’s post-game barbs telling him to go home, as Kyle Neubeck of the PhillyVoice notes.

“He told me to go home. I mean this is my home, so I guess it’s time for him to go home. They won the game, I give them a lot of credit, he did a lot of things, but the dude shot like 10-of-33. I wish I would have shot 33 times, I guess we would have had a better chance of actually winning the game. But you know, he told me to go home, and this is my home and I ain’t going nowhere.”

It was classic Embiid to troll Westbrook and his outrageous shot volume. Westbrook shot the ball 33 times, nearly double the amount taken by Carmelo Anthony, who was having one of his best games of the season.

On the other hand, Embiid shot the ball just 20 times, which doesn’t seem like enough since he also played a career-high 49 minutes. But then again, he just has to make peace with the fact that not everyone can have the perpetual green light quite like Westbrook.
