The NBA won't rescind the flagrant foul  called on Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid in Game 4 of their first-round series with the Brooklyn Nets.

According to Tim Bontempts of ESPN, sources reveal that the league has no plans of rescinding the flagrant foul on the Sixers big man. Per the rules, when a player gets four flagrant points, an automatic one-game suspension will be tagged. As of today, Embiid already has two Flagrant 1 fouls.

Joel Embiid was assessed with the Flagrant when he tried to make a defensive play on Jarrett Allen. Nets veteran Jared Dudley, meanwhile, came to the rescue after seeing that the foul may have been too hard and unnecessary.

Embiid, for his part, strongly believes that he didn't commit a flagrant foul, per Bill Difilippo of UPROXX:

“I didn’t think it was a flagrant foul,” Embiid stressed. “I saw the replay, and I felt like I got all ball. So I have no idea why it was a flagrant foul. I’m not that type of player, any chance that I get, I try to go for the ball, and then if I feel like I made a mistake, I always apologize.”

The Nets-Sixers matchup is turning out to be one hell of a chippy series. Apart from Embiid, Jimmy Butler and Dudley have been sanctioned with fines for their role in the Game 4 scuffle.

The Sixers currently hold the 3-1 advantage. They have a chance to move on to the second round on Tuesday at the Wells Fargo Center.
