After appearing in the first four games of the 2017-18 NBA season, the Philadelphia 76ers announced Markelle Fultz would be out indefinitely with a shoulder injury and re-evaluated in three weeks.

As it has been close to three weeks, the Sixers are expected to provide an injury update on the first overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft according to Keith Pompey of Philly.com:

Sources expect the first-overall pick in June’s NBA draft will get a positive report while being reevaluated Sunday by surgeon Ben Kibler at the Shoulder Center of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky. Kilber determined that Fultz had scapular muscle imbalance in addition to soreness in his shoulder during his first visit there on Oct. 29.

The guard previously visited two Major League Baseball doctors who specialize in shoulder injuries. All three doctors confirmed that there’s no structural damage in his shoulder.

From changing his free throw form to shooting left-handed jumpers before being out indefinitely, it has been an interesting start to Fultz's career. However, as Pompey mentions, the positive report just means he is coming along in his recovery process and not necessarily making his return against the Utah Jazz on Nov. 20.

For the Sixers, they are currently 8-6 before their matchup against the Golden State Warriors. While it would be ideal for Fultz to return soon and build chemistry with his teammates, the top priority will be ensuring his shoulder is 100 percent healthy.
