Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid can’t talk trash with water, and even if he tried, he’ll just lose to it. As good as he is when it comes to taking care of business opposite some of the world’s largest human beings on the basketball court, the Sixers center apparently can’t deal with with a harmless lazy river ride, as evidenced by this hilarious video that shows the seven-foot Cameroonian nearly drowning in shallow waters.

Embiid has all the time in the world to learn how to swim, though. His Sixers team was sent to an early vacation after getting eliminated in the second round of the playoffs, bowing out to the Boston Celtics, four games to one.

Joel Embiid can have all the fun he can this offseason. For one, he fully deserves it following an astounding 2017-18 campaign in which he averaged 22.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks in 63 regular season games while also making it to his first All-Star appearance.

With Embiid and Ben Simmons forming the rock the Sixers are built on, the team is expected to compete for years to come. With Embiid in the middle, Philly was able to keep its head above water throughout the regular season. The Sixers, however, might also want to get Embiid out of any water-related activities as they surely don’t want to lose their star big man who helped rescue them from years of drowning in mediocrity.
