Chris Paul acknowledged that Deandre Ayton has been vital to the Phoenix Suns' incredible success this season.

In previous years, Ayton was expected to be the second-best player alongside Devin Booker; however, Paul joining the team has changed that. Ayton has embraced his new role and has vastly improved his play this season.

The Suns recently overtook the Utah Jazz for first in the Western Conference Standings, and they are in a great position for the upcoming playoffs.

Deandre Ayton has averaged 14.8 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 1.1 block per game this season. He has also improved his field goal percentage to 62.0 percent, which is a career high. His impact on the floor can't be summed up in the box score, as he also leads the pick-and-roll with Devin Booker and Chris Paul. While CP3 and D-Book are great players, they wouldn't of had this success without the play of Ayton.

Phoenix is set up for a deep playoff run with this roster. With Paul and Booker paired with Ayton and Mikal Bridges, the team has the talent to make a Finals run. The West is tough to get out of with teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Jazz and Denver Nuggets, but the Suns are the one seed for a reason. Head coach Monty Williams also deserves a ton of credit for what he has done.

Sure enough, this Suns team is one you will not want your favorite team to face come playoff time.
