The Phoenix Suns were dealt a disheartening defeat in Game 2 against the New Orleans Pelicans. But the bigger issue lingering is the injury status of Devin Booker.

The Suns shooting guard was seen exiting the game due to a hamstring injury and no longer returned to the contest as his team fell without him, 125-114.

Suns head coach Monty Williams was asked about the injury after the game. While he isn't privy to the severity just yet, his message was one ready to bounce back for Game 3 – with or without Devin Booker.

Via Gerald Bourguet:

“We'll get more information, we'll have a better update tomorrow,” said the Suns coach. “If we have to play without Book, next man up. And we've done that all year long.”

The Phoenix Suns are obviously at their best with Devin Booker leading the way. He's a big reason why they far and away have the best record in the league. But they've still managed to be a winning team in the few games that he's missed this season. The Suns were above .500 with an 8-6 record in games without Devin Booker on the court.

While it's obviously not ideal, Phoenix will still have a lot of their bite even without their All-Star. Hopefully it becomes a moot discussion and he'll be healthy enough to not miss a game. We'll just have to wait and see.
