Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams is hoping shooting guard Devin Booker makes the All-Star team as a reserve on Thursday.

The All-Star reserves are voted by the coaches. The results will be announced on TNT.

Williams wants Booker to make the All-Star team so he can “run around my house and act like an idiot.”

Booker has appeared in 44 games this season for the Suns. He's averaging 27.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.4 assists while shooting 51.0 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from beyond the arc and 91.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The Suns are 20-27 on the season. They are in 11th place in the Western Conference standings.

Former NBA point guard Jameer Nelson said this past summer Booker reminded him of a young Kobe Bryant. Booker has established himself as one of the best scorers in the league. He scored a whopping 70 points during the 2016-17 season against the Boston Celtics.

Booker was in tears on Sunday when the Suns and Memphis Grizzlies honored Bryant by running 24 seconds off the shot clock. Like he was to many, Bryant was Booker’s idol growing up.

Booker is going to strive for his own greatness and do his best to honor his idol moving forward by trying to lead the Suns to the playoffs.
