The Phoenix Suns were no strangers to making moves in the 2019 NBA Draft. Among their notable additions was that of former Boston Celtics center Aron Baynes.

Rumors suggested that Phoenix could potentially be a stop-gap for Baynes. According to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7, he is expected to be a part of the roster in the 2019-20 NBA season.

Contrary to a report there are no plans for the Suns to buyout Aron Baynes – he is coming to Phoenix to play

The Celtics found themselves in the midst of a sudden rebuild following a disappointing turn of events this offseason. Their attempts to free up some cap space made way for the Suns to swoop in and make a deal for Baynes and the 24th overall pick in the draft in exchange for the 2020 first-rounder they acquired from the Milwaukee Bucks.

Although the addition of Baynes provides them with some much-needed experience in the frontcourt, Phoenix put a clear emphasis on shoring up their shooting through this year's draft. After using the No. 11 overall pick on sharpshooting forward Cam Johnson, the Suns the cashed in their newly-acquired pick for Virginia shooting guard Ty Jerome.

Baynes is coming off an injury-plagued year in Boston. He finished the season averaging a mere 5.6 points and 3.0 rebounds in 51 games. He is set to make $5.6 million next season, which means the Suns are projected to have at least $14 million in cap space to work with this offseason. Phoenix is hoping that the veteran can provide them with plenty of bang for their buck moving forward.
