The Phoenix Suns' relentless pursuit to add young talent to this roster has proved a hurdle in managing to ship out star point guard Eric Bledsoe, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Bledsoe had requested a trade since the offseason after the team and then-coach Earl Watson took the executive decision to sit out the veterans to make way for the young players in the roster.

The Suns slipped into the second-worst record in the league, which garnered No. 4 overall selection Josh Jackson as the only benefit from a 24-win season.

Bledsoe has wanted to be part of a contender and make use of his game coming into the prime of his career for a team with championship aspirations, not a team looking to rebuild.

The New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, L.A. Clippers, and the Denver Nuggets have all expressed desire to acquire Bledsoe, but after his public tweet, being sent home and notably discontent with the organization — teams have gained major leverage in negotiations, making it much tougher for Phoenix to yield a just return for its prized point guard.

The Nuggets have offered Emmanuel Mudiay and other pieces, while the Bucks offered Greg Monroe, Thon Maker, and a draft pick for Bledsoe — making it only a matter of time before the right deal comes along, if the franchise doesn't get overly greedy for a young package.
