Last season, it was tight end George Kittle and the San Francisco 49ers that were representing the NFC in the Super Bowl. This time around, it is the longtime New England Patriots tight end and Tampa Bay Buccaneers newcomer Rob Gronkowski leading the way against the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs, a team that took down the aforementioned Kittle and his 49ers in the 2019-20 title game.

Although Kittle is the one watching from his couch this year as San Francisco was absolutely ravaged by injuries throughout the 2020-21 campaign, the 49ers tight end is no doubt paying attention to what is unfolding down in Tampa Bay. With Kittle live-tweeting the Sunday evening showdown between the Chiefs and Buccaneers, he is already loving what he's seeing as Gronk has scored not one but two first-half touchdowns to give Tampa Bay an impressive 14-3 lead.

Of course, with Gronkowski touchdowns also come Gronk spikes as his patented celebration has been broken out on multiple occasions during the first half of Super Bowl LV.

After previously spending the entirety of his NFL playing career as a member of the heralded Patriots, Gronkowski abruptly retired en route to riding off into the sunset—or so everyone thought. When his longtime Patriots teammate in future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady decided to depart New England in favor of Tampa Bay this past offseason, Gronk wasn't too far behind as he came out of retirement in order to join the upstart Buccaneers.

Obviously, both he and Brady ultimately made the right decision…
