The Miami Heat pulled off the first major blockbuster trade of the offseason thus far, acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks for a package that consisted of multiple players and draft picks. Since the trade went down, Giannis has been palling around with new Heat teammate Bam Adebayo, with a recent stop including a gym workout.

In the immediate aftermath of the Heat trade, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo showed up to watch the Las Vegas Aces’ loss to the New York Liberty on Tuesday. The duo seem to be a pretty good pairing off the court, but they figure to complement one another on the court as well.

Obviously the Heat still have other roster decisions they’re going to have to make this summer, including what to do with All-Star guard Norman Powell who is sure to draw interest from rival teams. But having Antetokounmpo and Adebayo is a pretty good start.

Both players are multiple-time All-Stars and perennial All-Defensive players. Antetokounmpo was hampered last season due to injury and only appeared in a career-low 36 games. But he is expected to be healthy for the upcoming season, and together they will form one of the better frontcourts in the Eastern Conference.

The Heat are hoping for a return to the postseason after losing in the play-in tournament this past season to the Charlotte Hornets. Not only that, the franchise is also hoping to return to contender status as well. From 2011-2023, the Heat reached the NBA Finals six times, winning two championships in the process.
