It's looking less and less likely that Oklahoma City Thunder wing Andre Roberson will return soon, if at all this season.

According to Royce Young of ESPN, Thunder head coach Billy Donovan says that he does not have any specific timetable for Roberson's return and that there is no target date.

Roberson has been out since last January with a ruptured patellar tendon.

In October, Roberson was ruled out for an additional two months after suffering a setback in his rehab, and in late November, Roberson experienced another setback following discomfort after landing from a jump. It was later revealed that Roberson had suffered a small avulsion fracture in his knee.

Since then, there has not been much news of Roberson's recovery, which can't be all that great.

While Roberson does not provide much value on the offensive end of the floor, he is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league and has historically done a terrific job of guarding Houston Rockets star James Harden.

With Paul George and Steven Adams anchoring the defense, the Thunder already have one of the best defensive units in the NBA, so a Roberson return would make them that much more lethal on that end of the floor.

However, whether or not Roberson actually returns at any point during the 2018-19 campaign is obviously up for debate.

In 39 games last season, the 27-year-old averaged five points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals over 26.6 minutes per game while shooting 53.7 percent from the floor, 22.2 percent from three-point range and a beyond abysmal 31.6 percent from the free-throw line.

But, again, his value is in his defensive prowess.
