Ice in his veins! Minnesota Timberwolves star D'Angelo Russell hit a game-winner against the Utah Jazz that is unlike many others.

Most game-winners are heavily contested and difficult shots, but due to a complete defensive breakdown by the Jazz, Russell got a wide-open layup to give the Timberwolves the W.

This is a horrible loss for the Jazz, as they completely blew the game. Getting beaten by a game-winning shot is hard enough, but having a breakdown and allowing an open layup is hard to get over. Every game matters late in the season as we get closer to the playoffs, so losses like this could be critical. Utah has lost two straight games both coming against Minnesota, and they now sit just one game ahead of the Phoenix Suns for first place in the Western Conference.

For Minnesota, it is an exciting win in an overall disappointing season. They sit in second to last place in the Western Conference and will once again miss the playoffs. The duo of Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell that fans were looking forward to watching this season haven't been able to get on the court much together. Due to injuries and health and safety protocols, the Timberwolves duo have only seen a limited number of action together. This season hasn't been a complete loss though, as rookie Anthony Edwards has shined throughout the campaign.

The Timberwolves have had a tough season, but they have won two games in a row and are giving fans a glimmer of hope for the future of the team.
